Confidence is attractive

Everyone has those days when we compare ourselves to other people and feel inadequate or as if we fell short. "she's a better mom than me", "He's better at football than me", "She is skinnier than me", "He's smarter than me".... so many things we tell ourselves everyday that belittle ourselves. We are the meanest to ourselves. Would you say "you're not pretty" or "you're not handsome" to someone else? NO. Then why do we say it to ourselves? Because society tells us we have to be perfect. Bull crap. No one can ever be perfect and most the time the people we think are "perfect" or have the "perfect life" don't and aren't. We compare our flaws to what we see that's amazing about them when in reality everyone has flaws and everyone goes through hard things. We are all a team, united in one thing and that is we are all children of God. My challenge to you is to stop comparing yo...

Society lies.

It's a harsh world today, and it's not easy for girls or women to have confidence in themselves, when we feel like we have to uphold a certain image, say sorry for everything and be perfect. Truth is... we are important, imperfect, and different. Society right now does everything to belittle the importance of a woman giving her false ideas of the role she plays in this world, making her feel inadequate the way she is. It takes a lot of bravery to stand up and be yourself. It takes courage to have confidence in yourself and be happy with who you are. We are to find happiness in this life and love ourselves for who we are and all that we are. You are unstoppable, you are YOU. Remember when you have a bad day and think... You can't do anything right, you aren't beautiful how you are, you aren't capable of doing great things. It's not true, those are all lies society tells you and you start to believe yourself. I believe everyone is created for a purpose and I belie...

Mothers

This post is dedicated to mothers, but most importantly my mum. This Sunday is mothers day and I would like you all to just take a moment and remember your mother, remember all she does/did/dos for you. Since the day I was born my mother has taken care of me, she has taught me so many things. My mother is the reason I am who I am today, and I will spend forever thanking her for all she does. Although I don't say it enough THANK YOU MUM AND I LOVE YOU. My mum is someone who always puts others needs before hers, she has taught me how to take a trial and just deal with it and let It make me a better person. My mum makes me a better person, I am grateful everyday for her cooking, service, love and laugh. Most of all I am grateful for my mother's support everyday in everything. I know whatever I go through she will be there! Mum YOU are beautiful, smart, amazing, wonderful, funny, caring and kind. THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU. Love, Emma

Trials bring blessings

A dear friend once told me..  Trials- Are changes and work Heavenly Father wants and chooses for us. Goals- Are changes and work we want and choose for ourselves. This is me 4 years ago..  Every pain, every sorrow, every hardship a trial brings, our savior Jesus Christ has atoned for it all, he is the one true person that knows everything you go through because he first went through it all. I believe every trial brings a blessing, if we didn't have them this journey/test of life would be boring and not challenging enough to learn and become who Heavenly Father wants us to be. D&C 18:10 "the worth of souls is great in the sight of God." Is the lesson and blessing I learned as I went through an eating disorder. We are created in Gods image. Do you love God? Then why not love yourself? He gave you this life to endure and become the greatest you can be. Enjoy what you have, embrace the hardships, good things will come. I graduate in a month and I'm thinking to myself,...

Love yourself first

We know the models and billboards and magazines are photoshopped yet we still try to compare ourselves to an unrealistic fake figure. The problem with this is that it will never be achievable no matter how hard you try, because a realistic body can't accommodate to an unrealistic one. It's hard, I know. I've been there. Which is why I'm here to tell you that when you compare yourselves to others it deminishes your own self and how you feel.  Theodore Roosevelt said it perfectly, when we compare ourselves to others our joy is gone. So please I ask you to look at yourself in the mirror and say I am me, it's who I am. There is no one like me, I am not going to compare myself to others because I love me. And I AM AWESOME. I know it's not easy to change that self concept just like that , so here is something I want you to think about... Think of the happiest moment of your life, did you love yourself at that point? What changed? Did you start comparing yourself to ot...

Accept yourself

I know What I went through and the experiences I've had, have made me the person I am today confident and proud of myself! And I am so grateful for that. Everyone has flaws.. It's how you look at them and accept them that make you a better, more confident person! You are all wonderful! Thank you for your support in my Miss PG pageant. Remember who you are becoming on the inside is more important than how you look on the outside. Sometimes you have to realize what you need to fix in order to fix it. Make a goal to accept yourself today and everyday! ❤️❤️

Strengthen how you view yourself.

I know how hard it can be in the world today, we are constantly bashed with the perfect media "model" and "this is what you can do to look prettier" but LETS BE REALISTIC. Every ad is photoshopped every billboard is touched up and every model is configured before shown to the world. We compare ourselves to the unrealistic figures that are placed before us.. They are NOT achievable. We are imperfect and filled with flaws and we are BEAUTIFUL! imperfection=Beauty, a good heart=Beauty, confidence=Beauty, loving yourself and who you are, being comfortable in your own skin is BEAUTY. I think a lot of the time we get caught up on what we "need" to look like to fit in, when in reality you were born to stand out. Sometimes you just need to shift your focus.. What is more important? They way you look on the outside... Or the person you are becoming on the inside? Make a goal with yourself today, answering this question "what can I do today to love myself more?...
